Zannoubiya Oil on Canvas (10"x20")

The Queen of Palmyra was a highly educated, strong and smart leader.She was cultured and tolerant toward her subjects and protected religious minorities. Her rise and fall inspired historians, artists and novelists and she is a national hero in Syria. I imagined this legend standing with her famous shawl and jewelry wearing a dress that carries the pictures of the holy dome in Jerusalem and the Golan Heights in Syria, ashamed by the level of racism,violence,sexism and extremism we reached.
